US Airways Assigns New Real Estate Leader

ARLINGTON, VA-As US Airways tries to recoup after filing for bankruptcy last August, the company taps longtime aviation aficionado Wayne Herndon to hold down the property fort as VP for corporate real estate.

ARLINGTON, VA-Those looking to talk real estate with US Airways now have a new contact. The airline, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last summer, has tapped aviation arena insider Wayne Herndon to serve as the new VP for corporate real estate.

“As the company continues to restructure, the role that corporate real estate will play in future development and in controlling facility costs is huge,” US Airways president and CEO David N. Siegel notes. “Wayne brings an enormous amount of experience and energy to the position and I enthusiastically welcome him to our management team.”

Herndon has been charged with picking up where former real estate vice president Charles Stipancic left off when he exited the position after an 18-month stint. Herndon will handle all activities pertaining to US Airways’ commercial real estate portfolio, ranging from ticketing locations to corporate office space. Prior to his present appointment, Herndon operated an aviation consulting practice in Fayetteville, GA.
