Doughnut Maker Glazes Over Specifics

PORTLAND-Kremeworks USA says its local Krispy Kreme franchises will be built in Jantzen Beach, Beaverton and Clackamas, but won't yet reveal their exact locations, saying it hasn't yet obtained the necessary permits to assure their development on particular sites.

PORTLAND-Krispy Kreme’s proprietary mix of fat, sugar and flour got a little closer to home this week when Chicago-based KremeWorks USA gave up the general locations of its planned stores for the Portland area.

Each of the 4,100-sf doughnut shops will be built from scratch. The Beaverton store will be built on Cornell Road near167th Place. The two others stores will be located in Clackamas and Jantzen Beach. KremeWorks says it is just no starting to apply for municipal building permits.

With no permits yet, sources tell GlobeSt.com it’s unlikely any of the stores could be up and running prior to the end of the year. Currently the only Northwest location is in Issaquah, Wash., 15 miles east of Seattle.
