PLANO, TX-Lombard, IL-based Exide Technologies is getting ready for a December move-in to an 18,094-sf office spot that will serve as the headquarters for the Network Power Product Support group. Exide had been looking since January for a Telecom Corridor location.

Jeff Davidson, managing director for Julien J. Studley Inc.’s Dallas office, tells GlobeSt.com that Exide chose the 70,880-sf Plano Tech Center Building 2 because a number of its clients are located there aside plus he was able to cut a pretty good deal, in keeping with the offers floating around the high-tech corridor these days. Davidson’s not talking terms of the long-term lease, but did say finish-out is under way and the time is nearing for Exide to take the keys. He represented Exide Technologies. Building owner and manager Argent Property Co. used vice president Tom O’Dwyer to negotiate the pact.

The Exide division will set up shop in a single-story, mixed-use structure at 3301 E. Plano Parkway. The building also will be used as a distribution point for the Network Power group and Manchester, England-based Motive Power businesses, which package energy management solutions to original equipment and aftermarket segments for global material handling, access equipment and electric-powered vehicles. Network Power Product Support group provides engineering, furnishings and installation services to the telecommunications industry. Exide has operations in 89 countries and is touted as the world’s largest industrial and transportation battery producer and recycler.

In the North Dallas submarket, Teris LLC has taken 8,875 sf in a sublease pact with Host Communications. The office suite is at Bent Tree Green, located at 17300 N. Dallas Parkway. Steven Schneider and Jeff Price, both of Grubb & Ellis Co. in Dallas, represented Host Communications. Pat O’Keefe of CB Richard Ellis acted on the Teris’ behalf.
