Houston Engineering Firm Launches Austin Office

AUSTIN-A Houston-based engineering firm is opening an Austin office with a 2,500-sf lease in far north Austin. Brown Engineering took the space at the Executive Plaza building, situated at 14205 N. Burnet Rd.

Brown, which practices civil, structural and environmental engineering, has worked in the Austin area for several years, but has not had an office here. Harold Phillips, an executive in the firm’s Dallas office, tells GlobeSt.com that the company should have four or five people in the Austin office in about a month.

Jay Lamy of the Austin office of Dallas-based Staubach Co. has represented Brown and Mike Murphy of Pyramid Properties Inc., based in Austin, has represented the building owner, Sage Land Co.

Executive Plaza is a six-story building on a stretch of Burnet Road that connects busy north Austin with growing Round Rock. It has quick access to Interstate 35, MoPac Expressway and Texas 183.
