MURRAY HILL, NJ-The economy may have stalled in the region and across the country, but transaction activity in New Jersey continues to run counter to the malaise. One example: The New Jersey office of The Staubach Co., the international corporate rep firm, recently arranged a total of nine leases amounting to more than 135,000 sf of space.

That activity is diverse. In the largest deal, BusinessEdge Solutions took 72,770 sf at One Tower in East Brunswick; Staubach’s Dan Loughlin and Steve Fleming represented the tenant. In the second largest transaction, Bear Stearns leased 15,183 sf at 101 Carnegie Center, Princeton, with Staubach’s John Giordano representing the tenant.

Also, Albiez Insurance leased 13,299 sf at Plaza 9 in Woodbridge (Giordano represented Albiez); Mformation Technologies took 12,005 sf at Alfieri Towers in Edison (Charles Dillon represented the tenant); and Booz-Allen Hamilton rented 9,700 sf at Gateway Center II in Newark (Giordano represented te tenant).

Finally, Actinic Software leased 3,562 sf in East Brunswick; New River Pharmaceuticals signed for 3,500 sf at Advance at Bedminster, Bedminster; Dow Jones took just under 3,000 sf in Parsippany; and Digital Lighthouse Corp. leased 2,359 sf in Woodbridge.
