Kirkland Building Brings Big Bucks for Big Brothers and Sisters

KIRKLAND, WA-The building's owner, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of King and Pierce County, will use proceeds from its sale to purchase and renovate its new headquarters at 1600 S. Graham St. in Seattle's Georgetown area.

KIRKLAND, WA-A 7,043-sf office building built in 1975 has sold for more than $272/sf, the second highest price per sf in Kirkland so far this year. The owner, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of King and Pierce County, fetched $1.96M from 608 State Street LLC, an investment group led by the Dulude family.

The family’s DuVoice Corp., a voice-mail software company, will begin relocating its offices to the State St. offices sometime in December, once Big Brothers Big Sisters completes its move. Proceeds from the sale will be used by the non-profit organization to purchase and renovate its new headquarters at 1600 S. Graham St. in Seattle’s Georgetown area.

The award for the highest sf/price obtained for a Kirkland property in 2000 went to the sale of the 9,600-sf Royal Oak Mines building near the prestigious waterfront complex at Carillon Point. The price of $6M translated to $625/sf.
