Richard J. McKenna, president of Arthur J. Gallaher & Co.'sGallagher Bassett Services subsidiary, a third-party administratorservice, has retired, the Itasca, Ill.-based insurance brokersaid.

"After 33 years of service at Gallagher, Rich has decided toretire," said J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president andchief executive officer of AJG. "He has been a huge contributor tothe success of our company and we wish him all the best in hisretirement."

Following six years with Aetna Casualty, Mr. McKenna joinedGallagher Bassett Services Inc. He held a variety of managementpositions within Gallagher Bassett and was appointed executive vicepresident, operations in 1986. In 1994 he was named a corporatevice president of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., and in 2000 he wasnamed president and CEO of Gallagher Bassett.

AJG said the company has begun a search for his replacement.
