NU Online News Service, Dec. 30, 1:00 p.m.EST?The National Alliance for Insurance Education &Research announced it will introduce the Certified Risk Managerinternational courses to university and college representatives atthe Western Risk and Insurance Association conference in Las Vegas,January 2-5, 2004.[@@]

"The CRM Principles of Risk Management course is anideal stepping stone into the risk management field for businessmajors," explained James W. Kallman, executive vice president ofThe National Alliance in Austin, Texas, and director of the CRMprogram. "It provides an overall knowledge of the risk managementprocess and gives students the background they will need to succeedin more advanced courses."

Lance J. Ewing, executive council president of the Risk andInsurance Management Society Inc. in New York, will be a featuredspeaker at the WRIA event. Mr. Ewing is vice president of riskmanagement for Park Place Entertainment, a CRM faculty member, anda member of the board of directors of The Academy of ProducerInsurance Studies.

Additionally, Mr. Kallman will introduce the new peer-reviewedJournal of Risk Education, due for publication in mid-2004. TheJRE, co-sponsored by The National Alliance and RIMS, will feature acompilation of articles from teaching professionals on new andinnovative teaching theories and techniques.
