The New York State Board of Law Examiners announced the results of the February 2002 bar exam at 12:01 a.m. today. Of the 3,167 applicants examined, 1,338 (42.6 percent) passed the examination. Of the 1,350 applicants taking the examination for the first time, 777 (57.6 percent) passed. The pass rate is the lowest of the last several years.
