New York’s Administrative Board of the Courts plans to approve a proposal next month that would allow attorneys to collect continuing legal education credits for their pro bono work.
Although the details — such as precisely what work would qualify and how many hours of pro bono would count toward meeting the CLE requirement — are still being worked out, the plan is “definitely a go,” according to Mai Yee, spokeswoman for the Office of Court Administration. Yee said the Administrative Board will tackle the issue at its next meeting, scheduled for March 2.
