Six months after taking on the role of acting Commissioner of the Patent and Trademark Office, Q. Todd Dickinson has been nominated to the post by President Clinton.
Dickinson was confirmed as deputy commissioner in June 1998 and stepped into his current role following the resignation of former commissioner Bruce Lehman. The commissioner also serves as Assistant Secretary of Commerce.
