Skadden, Slaughter and May Help Sell Enron Water Works
In a deal valued at about .7 billion, Malaysian-based energy provider YTL Power International Berhard announced last week that its British unit, YTL Utilities (UK) Limited, had agreed to purchase British water utility Wessex Water Ltd. from Azurix Corp., the Houston-based water unit of the bankrupt Enron Corp. According to Azurix chairman and chief operating officer, J. Michael Anderson, the sale of Wessex is the biggest step Azurix will take in the process of winding up its business. Enron paid .2 billion
