Despite an approximately 28-year gap between a fatal Long Island attack and an arrest, a judge refused to dismiss the indictment, saying law enforcement officials made a good faith effort to build their case during that time.
Acting Suffolk County Supreme Court Justice Fernando Camacho said there was “no view of the evidence to support a finding that law enforcement delayed the arrest of the defendant to gain a tactical advantage over him.”
