A class action suit filed Wednesday in the Eastern District by LatinoJustice on behalf of 21 individuals claims the the Suffolk County Police Department had an “ongoing policy, pattern and practice of discriminatory policing” against Latinos.
The plaintiffs say they were stopped because of their ethnicity and without legal justification and were subjected to a “stop and rob” scheme where police wrongfully deprived them of property and/or unlawfully ticketed them.
