US associates are turning their back on the partnership dream with just 12% of juniors at major firms across the Atlantic expecting to become an equity partner, according to research published today (1 August) by The American Lawyer.

With the partnership carrot increasingly losing its appeal, nearly half (45%) of the respondents to the magazine’s annual midlevel associates survey predicted they would not be with their current firms in five years time.
