The legal industry prides itself on discipline and structure – in an industry with such traditional values and strong cultures, these foundations are key. However, it should not be assumed that just because that structure has always been in place, it will take care of itself. This is certainly not the case at the moment: there is a squeeze happening out there. The traditional pyramid structure has become an egg timer and the tightening belt around mid-level lawyers is putting them under increasing pressure.
