Amid the stresses and strains of gunning for a training contract, it is easy to neglect an item that will not rear its head for around four years – the chances of being kept on by your future firm.

But taking a look at how many trainees firms tend to keep once they have qualified can be crucial when applying for a training contract or deciding on which offer to accept. At its worst, it can mean the difference between a job or no job. More likely, it is the difference between getting a job that you want and doing something you are not so keen on.
