EC to forge conduct standards

The European Commission (EC) is drawing up a new directive to harmonise the codes of conduct governing lawyers across the European Union (EU).

Internal markets commissioner Frits Bolkestein is overseeing the initiative, with the expectation that the EC could produce a draft document by December.
