Legal Week‘s revelation that Manches has entered into tripartite merger discussions with niche City firm Fenners and West End property boutique Kanter Jules has been met with incredulity in some quarters.

Following the departure of seven senior property partners last year, many had expected Manches to seek a big firm merger, not embark on yet another bolt-on exercise by courting niche practices.
