Spanish leader Uria & Menendez has acted opposite Davis Polk & Wardwell on Spain’s biggest capital markets deal of the past year.

The deal saw the national utilities group Endesa issue e1.5bn (£1.03bn) in bonds through its US-based subsidiary Endesa Capital Finance. The 10-year floating rate bond is the largest issue from a Spanish borrower since Telefonica’s e2bn (£1.37bn) offering of 2001.
