Wanted posterLast month’s IBA bash in Durban was certainly a security conscious affair with delegates advised to take taxis everywhere so as not to fall foul of the rampant street crime in the city.

As a result only four delegate muggings were reported to the police, a statistic regarded as almost miraculous by the embattled local constabulary – although one hapless Korean lawyer is said to have been mugged twice, once when he hired a taxi to drive him into a township.
