The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (Apil) looks set to back limited proposals to introduce fixed fees for fast-track personal injury cases amid expectations that the gulf between claimant and defendant lawyers will be bridged with a compromise deal.
Apil president Patrick Allen signalled the shift in stance to accept a fixed cost regime for low-value road traffic accidents (RTAs) at the body’s autumn conference on 7 November.
