Austrian partner dumps Haarmanns name

The Austrian merger partner of Germany’s largest independent law firm has dropped the name of its parent after a spat with the Vienna Bar.

The move is part of a compromise deal ahead of a ruling expected next year by the Austrian Constitutional Court on whether German leader Haarmann Hemmelrath & Partner should have been allowed to merge with local firm Hugel & Partners.
