Isn’t the internet fab? How many of us have found long-lost friends and former colleagues by just typing a name into Google and clicking? It is even good for getting phone numbers that one has mislaid or when one cannot be bothered to search for a directory.
Which is why The Diary was quite surprised when, on typing the name of well-known Allen & Overy PR man Sean Twomey into the box a couple of weeks back, we discovered that he was not actually out of the office on his summer holidays, but residing in a Las Vegas jail.
