With one in five employees apparently suffering from work-related stress and the number of stress claims handled on behalf of union members having increased 12-fold over the past year, employers and their advisers should be concerned about this growing problem.
Employers are paying a high price for work-related stress, both in terms of days lost through absence and significant awards which have been made in recent times following successful claims for stress-related injury.
