Proskauer Rose won the London Office of the Year award, with the judges crediting the firm’s ”substantive commitment to its host city on the community front, as well as a growing and successful practice”.

The US firm has invested in its City office with a number of recent lateral partner hires. In October, it recruited former SJ Berwin managing partner Rob Day from King & Wood Mallesons alongside corporate finance partner Andrew Wingfield, while in August, it hired leveraged finance partner Ben Davis from Reed Smith.

The firm has also built out its corporate real estate practice with the hires of private equity real estate partners Vikki McKay and Joanne Owen from DLA Piper.

Recent deal highlights for the firm in London include advising Hong Kong-listed Magnificent Real Estate on its acquisition of Travelodge London Kings Cross from Henderson Global Investors, and acting for the Carlyle Group on its £1bn acquisition of PA Consulting Group.

In addition, the firm’s London team has volunteered over 400 hours of mentoring this year, working with ThinkForward, a charity which identifies the most at-risk young people starting their GCSEs and supports them over five years to ensure they stay in school and transition into employment.
