EMV chip credit cardPoint-of-salenetwork CU24 said it finalized a licensing agreement last week withMasterCard to enable EMV card transactions.

With the MasterCard US common application identifier in place,CU24credit union MasterCard debit cards can be accepted and routed bymerchants with EMV secure technology while complying with therouting requirements under the Durbin amendment, the companysaid.

“With this agreement in place for MasterCard-branded cards, weensure that our credit unions can smoothly transition to a moresecure payments environment along with the rest of the financialservices industry, thereby helping them to compete and improvetheir members' lives,” Mansel Guerry, CU24 president/CEO, said.

Based in Tallahassee, Fla., CU24 operates the largestcredit-union POS network in the nation and provides access to thelargest network of surcharge-free ATMs, according to thecompany.
