Municipal Credit Union honored the civil servants of the BigApple by sponsoring Civil Service Appreciation Day at the St.John's University basketball game against UCLA on Feb. 18. St.John's won the game 66-63 and St. John's University AdvantageAcademy walked away with a $5,000 donation from the $1.7 billion,328,000-member MCU. The academy is a partnership between the schooland the New York City Department of Homeless Services that enablesqualified individuals from homeless and formerly homeless,single-parent families to gain the skills and confidence to breakthe cycle of poverty through education, counseling and socialsupport.
