CP Federal Credit Union helped make Tina Greer's dream of a newhome for her five children a reality.
|The 35-year old widower is the lucky winner of the Jackson,Mich.-based credit union's Wish Upon A Home giveaway.
|The Greer family's new home will be 1,780 square-feet with fourbedrooms, hardwood floors, a patio and a fenced-in yard. It was aforeclosed home that the credit union got back from one of itsmembers. Recognizing that it would be a great family home andtaking a cue from Dort Federal Credit Union, which has had similargiveaways, CP Federal saw an opportunity to offer the gift of homeownership.
|In addition to meeting certain income requirements applicantshad to live in Jackson County and be in need of adequate,affordable housing.
|The widowed mom and her five children, ranging from age 3 to 14,have been living in a deteriorating mobile home. The home wasawarded under a mortgage agreement that will require Greer to livein the home for five years after which she'll own it free.
