CP Federal Credit Union helped make Tina Greer's dream of a newhome for her five children a reality.

The 35-year old widower is the lucky winner of the Jackson,Mich.-based credit union's Wish Upon A Home giveaway.

The Greer family's new home will be 1,780 square-feet with fourbedrooms, hardwood floors, a patio and a fenced-in yard. It was aforeclosed home that the credit union got back from one of itsmembers. Recognizing that it would be a great family home andtaking a cue from Dort Federal Credit Union, which has had similargiveaways, CP Federal saw an opportunity to offer the gift of homeownership.

In addition to meeting certain income requirements applicantshad to live in Jackson County and be in need of adequate,affordable housing.

The widowed mom and her five children, ranging from age 3 to 14,have been living in a deteriorating mobile home. The home wasawarded under a mortgage agreement that will require Greer to livein the home for five years after which she'll own it free.
