Online Resources Corp. said it has received a new patent for anumber of its biller service provider bill paymenttransactions.
|The company said the new patent from the U.S. Patent andTrademark Office, a continuation of one that expired in December,extends to mid-2014 protection of the technology and processes usedin its eCom Advantage Suite.
|Online Resources said the original patent granted it “exclusiverights to process various real-time electronic ATM network-baseddebit transactions for consumers using home terminals to purchasegoods or services, pay bills and/or do home banking.”
|It said the patent also covers BSP bill payment transactionssuch as payments using credit cards, debit cards and PIN-less debitvia live agent, IVR and Web-based payment systems.
|Online Resources' eCom Advantage Suite is used for presentment,payment and receivables in the credit card, auto finance, mortgage,insurance, health care, telecommunications and utility industries,the company said.
|Based in Chantilly, Va., the company counts 450 credit unionsamong its approximately 2,000 clients.
