AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Credit Union Foundation has awarded A+Federal Credit Union the FOCUS Award.

Each year, this award is given to the credit union in Texaswhich best exemplifies a commitment to financial education. A+FCUwas recognized for its program in which employees have conductedover 100 financial education presentations in area schools reachingnearly 5,000 students.

The credit union also employs a full-time Member EducationSpecialist, former teacher Dawn Ambuehl-Sadek, who is dedicated toproviding free financial education to members and non-membersalike. Over 450 A+FCU members have taken advantage of the uniqueopportunity to receive free financial education. Others that havebenefited from A+FCU's financial outreach program include parentsof students, educators, and employees of FirstCare Health Plans,Texas Association of School Boards and the YMCA of Austin.
