ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Card Services for Credit Unions, theassociation of credit unions which process their card transactionswith Fidelity National Information Services has collaborated withVisa USA to put together a package of information credit unions canuse if their cards are compromised in a data breach.

When a data compromise occurs, credit unions may be faced withmanaging both fraud losses and member service issues, theassociation said. From notifying members to responding to mediaquestions, credit unions are on the front lines in their hometownsanswering questions. Effective communication in these challengingsituations is critical to maintaining member loyalty and protectingthe credit union's good name. The free toolkit is a valuableresource offering communications best practices, as well as samplematerials.
