WASHINGTON -- CUNA will host an audio-conference on disasterpreparedness, specifically targeting pandemic, Deputy GeneralCounsel and Senior Vice President of Regulatory Advocacy Mary Dunnannounced last week.

The Dec. 19 audio-conference will feature NCUA ExecutiveDirector Len Skiles, NASCUS Chair Linda Jekel, and CUNA Director ofDisaster Recovery and Preparedness and Vice President of LeagueRelations Scott Earl.

Dunn explained that the call will focus on possible pandemic,but the general principles could apply in other disasters as well."The purpose of the call is to make sure that credit unions areaware that there are some duties that they need to be fulfilling inthis area and to give them some resources on how to accomplish thatreadiness and preparation," she said. She noted that regulators andexaminers are really focusing on disaster preparedness.
