North Jersey Federal Credit Union, Totowa, N.J., has recently donated clothing items from their winter accessory drive to Eva's Village in Paterson and La Casa de Don Pedro in Newark. Since 1982, Eva's Village in Paterson has been dedicated to feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and offering medical and addiction treatment free of charge to those less fortunate. Since 1972, La Casa de Don Pedro has promoted family well-being, healthy child development, educational achievement, employment opportunities, home ownership, financial self-sufficiency, energy conservation as well as neighborhood renewal. America's Christian Credit Union, Glendora, Calif., has recently made its largest donation ever to the Children's Miracle Network. The staff worked all year to earn over $8,000 through a variety of events. The largest donation came from a group of 8-year-old boys, armed with cookbooks and a lot of heart. The Children's Miracle Network (CMN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind. Pacific Service Credit Union, Santa Rosa, Calif., has provided a grant to Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation for its SAFE Summer/ Swim Safe program for disadvantaged youth ages 6 to16. This marks the second year the credit union has generously donated to the program. In collaboration with the Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County, the SAFE Summer/Swim Safe program was offered free to at-risk youth from Santa Rosa. Kids not only learn about Sonoma County's ecosystems at the Environmental Discovery Center but swim safe sessions are also provided including water and boating safety. There were a variety of activities including nature hikes, craft projects, swimming, fishing and camping. Teens in the program worked with rangers on community service projects and learned about various careers in environmental sciences.
