TopLine Federal Credit Union, Maple Grove, Minn., is celebrating its 70th anniversary with crowd pleasing "Then and Now" lobby displays. "What began as the theme for a member appreciation event in its branches to mark 70 years in business has turned into very interesting displays in each of our branches of vintage items from 1935 sitting next to their modern day versions. From showcasing 70 year radio replicas next to DVD players and retro tricycles and bicycles next to today's high tech versions, to even vintage fishing and camping gear, including kayaks alongside modern gear it can all be found in branch lobbies with huge `Then and Now' life size photos as a back drop. Focus Federal Credit Union, Toledo, Ohio, has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a fifties theme complete with poodle skirts and a sock hop. Members and guests were treated to a fifties-style lunch and a musical look back at the fifties with popular radio personality Dale Wheba. Other festivities included face painting, crafts and a clown for the children. Local celebrity, Chester the Clown, was on hand to provide balloons and smiles to everyone he encountered. Cash and prizes totaling over $2,000 were also given away. Wescom Credit Union, Pasadena, Calif., has welcomed its 250,000th member. The milestone was celebrated at Wescom's Los Angeles branch, where its newest member, Alison Sherman, was awarded a $250 gift card to Albertsons and a $250 cash deposit into her Wescom checking account. In addition, Sherman was presented other Wescom gifts, including a framed certificate to acknowledge her as Wescom's 250,000th member. Wescom's membership growth has increased an average of 11% per year in the last three years – including a 14% increase in 2004. Tropical Financial Credit Union, Pembroke Pines, Fla., Research Coordinator Evelyn Skinner has celebrated here Golden work anniversary with the credit union. For 50 years, Skinner has worked her way up from her early days as a cashier to stints in such departments as accounting, loans, and collections. Today, TFCU has a staff of almost 300 with over 60,000 members. At her current age of 79, Skinner still works full-time and commutes daily. She has no current plans for retirement and her 50th anniversary was celebrated with a company-wide breakfast in her honor. Post Office Credit Union, Madison, Wis., has opted to celebrate turning 75 with yearlong celebrations. The celebration year kicked off with the delivery of special anniversary cakes to over 18 post office branches. Post Office CU also launched a three-month "You're Eligible" campaign to increase loans and membership by giving away a 2005 Mustang classic coupe.
