Memo to correspondent Jana Fowler and whoever edited her story. Your headline reads: "Community Credit Union Members Overwhelmingly Vote in Favor of Conversion, …." I'm sorry, I'm a little slow, so please help me here -36,000 members (20% of 177,000) voted; 25,560 votes were in favor of conversion (14.4% of their 177,000 members, 71% of the 36,000 votes cast); and these 25,560 votes constitute an "overwhelming" majority of Community Credit Union's members? Talk about "media hype"!! Looks to me like the "overwhelming majority" of Community Credit Union's members (86.6%) didn't vote. Tell me, do you moonlight for the Washington Post? Your lead statement says: "Community Credit Union's members have spoken and they are strongly in favor of converting to a bank." Clearly the majority of members who voted were in favor of conversion, but that is not what you state. I am a long-time reader and supporter of Credit Union Times, and I'm used to clear, concise, accurate, data-filled reporting. You gave us the data, Jana, then stated totally erroneous conclusions; shame on you. Chris Lindelof President/CEO Shell FCU Deer Park, Texas
