Spokane Teachers Credit Union, Wash., has named Business Development Manager Jackie Wright the 2004 Employee of the Year. In addition, STCU has named its Business Development/Public Relations Department and Business Services Department as the 2004 Teams of the Year. Branch Support Officer Karen Blair was awarded the Mike Armstrong Outstanding Community Volunteer Award, which is given in honor of longtime board member Mike Armstrong's work in the community. Redwood Credit Union Santa Rosa, Calif., has recently received the Gold Medal award in the "Best Consumer Bank" category of a recent readers' poll conducted by North Bay Biz, a monthly business magazine serving the San Francisco North Bay counties of Sonoma, Napa and Marin. Despite not being a bank, readers singled out the credit union for its member service and product selection. Dover Federal Credit Union, Dover AFB, Del., has been selected as one of the five outstanding community small businesses of the year by the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce. The credit union was honored based on its contributions to the business community and its impact on making the community a better place to live and work. On May 12th, the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce will recognize each nominee and announce the Small Business Person of the Year. DM Federal Credit Union, Tucson, Ariz., has named Stephanie Smith and Antonio Dias Employees of the Year. Smith is a financial services specialist II with the credit union. Dias is the internal auditor. The two were selected based on their exhibiting exceptional dedication and initiative, with a demonstrated positive impact on the credit union, its employees and/or the membership/public. In addition to meeting the requirements, Smith and Dias also volunteer on credit union committees and in the community. FAA Credit Union, Oklahoma City, has been named the 2004 "Business of the Year" by the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It marks the first time the chamber has named a business of the year. FAA CU was honored for its not only working hand-in-hand with the chamber in a consistent relationship but also its involvement with the Hispanic community as a whole. Keesler Federal Credit Union, Biloxi, Miss., has recognized several employees for their outstanding service. Financial Services Representative in Express Lending Melissa Barnard received the President's Award for the Administrative Office Division and Pascagoula Financial Services Representative Josh Duncan walked away with the President's Award for the Branch Operations Division. The President's Award is given to non-supervisory personnel who exemplify the CU's mission and values. June Jackson received the Executive Award in recognition of her leadership and management qualities, and Orange Grove branch Teller Lorie Anne Neville was honored as New Employee of the Year for her exemplary job performance and promise to be an asset to the future growth of the credit union.
