COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Quick thinking staffers at Ent Federal Credit Union's Mountain Bell Service Center helped Colorado Springs police apprehend several suspects who were trying to pass a stolen check. Officers from the Gold Hill division were dispatched to the downtown center following a call from the alert employees. Police discovered the suspects' vehicle had been stolen and contained numerous stolen checks, credit cards, and cash. A search of one suspect's temporary residence resulted in the recovery of additional stolen and forged checks and vehicle registrations. Ultimately, four suspects were taken into custody, suspected forged and stolen items from approximately 50 different victims were recovered, and 12 department case reports have been connected to the investigation. "Our officers could not have put this information together without the call from your personnel," said Chief of Police Luis Velez in a letter sent to Ent FCU President/CEO Charles Emmer. "Please extend my compliments and sincere appreciation to the members of your staff for a job well done."
