ENDICOTT, N.Y. – Credit unions in search of a few more goodstaffers may not need to look any further than the latest local bigbank sale or merger. Horizons Federal Credit Union, Sidney FederalCredit Union, GHS Federal Credit Union, and Visions Federal CreditUnion have recently teamed up to host a job fair for terminatedBinghamton Savings Bank employees. The bank will be acquired byUtica, New York-based Partners Trust Company in July and opted toissue pink slips to some 170 staffers. Seeing opportunity in thebanker's move, the four credit unions ran a classifiedadvertisement for a job fair to be held at Visions FCU. The adsplayed up the idea that credit unions would like to help theterminated employees during their time of need. “It is aninitiative to help bank employees find jobs in the credit unionmovement after their bank was sold to an out of town bank,” saidVisions FCU President/CEO Frank Berrish.
