MADISON, Wis.-CUNA's Center for Professional Development is hosting a two-part identity theft eSeminar this fall. On September 30, the first program will address the ease with which identity thieves can obtain consumers' personal information via pretext calling and why victims can never fully recover their identities. The second session, "Identity Theft: Working with your members," slated for October 7, will show participants on how to educate their members about identity theft, explain how credit unions should respond and work with member who may be victims, discover what information members will need if their identity is stolen, and show participants what resources are available to members for reestablishing their identities.
