RENO, Nev. – Glen Reese, the first managing director of the Nevada CU League who led the League for 26 years, died on March 5. Reese had cancer. Reese was named the Nevada League's first managing director in 1969, staying until 1995 when the California and Nevada Leagues formed a management agreement whereby the California League would provide services to the Nevada League. Among his accomplishments was playing a leading role in getting Nevada's Credit Union Law passed in 1975. Reese was surrounded by credit union people in his final days. He passed away at the home of Marsha Burgess, a former chair of the Nevada CU League. Another former Nevada League Chair, Washoe CU CEO Bruce Rodela, also provided care during Reese's final days. Reese was able to make a visit to Washington earlier this year to visit Credit Union House. "He always put himself first to make sure credit union members were served," said Rodela of Reese. Donations can be made in Reese's honor through the Credit Union House, 403 C Street N.E., Washington, D.C. 20002.
