<p>WAYNESBORO, Va. – DuPont Community CU, the third largest state-chartered credit union in Virginia, applied with the state Bureau of Financial Institutions to expand its community field-of-membership to include five counties – Augusta, Bath, Highland, Rockbridge, and Rockingham – and the independent Cities of Buena Vista, Lexington, Harrisonburg, Staunton and Waynesboro, which make up the Central Shenandoah Valley Region. When the $324 million credit union's application is approved, its potential FOM will increase from about 109,000 to an estimated 258,789. DuPont Community CU currently has more than 35,000 members.</p>
