General counsel are increasingly appointing advisers on the basis of value for money, according to a major survey which shows
in-house lawyers reacting to tough market conditions by squeezing their legal spend.

The third annual client service survey of 100 UK general counsel by Legal Week’s sister title Legal Director, found value for money rated as the most important factor in retaining advisers, cited by 56% of respondents.
