Hillshire Brands Co. in Chicago, distributor of Jimmy Dean, Hillshire and other packaged food brands, announced on May 12 it has paid about $4.3 billion to acquire food manufacturer Pinnacle Foods in Parsippany. Hillshire was advised by a team from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, while fellow New York City firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett is advising Pinnacle.
Digital Cinemas Sold for $40M
Westfield-based Digital Cinemas Destinations Corp. on May 15 announced it has been sold to movie theater operator Carmike Cinemas in Columbus, Ga., for about $40 million in a stock-swap transaction.
