SAN FRANCISCO — With the addition of five China-based corporate attorneys, Fenwick & West has opened an office in Shanghai—its first overseas.

Eva Wang, who joined from Covington & Burling in May 2013 to lay the groundwork for the office, is joined by counsel Jen Liu and Eric Yao and associates Ben Li, Ruomu Li and Liz Qin. Yao, Liu and B. Li had worked with Wang at Covington, but were most recently employed by Chinese firms. R. Li and Qin were most recently employed by other U.S. law firms. The team of U.S.-qualified attorneys expands the firm’s China practice to 20 attorneys, most of which are Bay Area-based.
