SAN JOSE — A cadre of Samsung experts took the stand Tuesday to present highly technical findings that they hope will eviscerate Apple’s $2 billion damages request.

In the third week of the mobile titans’ latest patent trial, Samsung Electronics Co. called experts who insisted the company did not step on Apple’s intellectual property and that the patents are invalid in the first place. Apple has asked for nearly $2.2 billion in damages for the five patents, which cover smartphone and tablet technology.
