SAN FRANCISCO — The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit handed a win Tuesday to eBay Inc. and its lawyers at Cooley in a case over the auction site’s automatic bidding system.

Ruling less than three weeks after hearing arguments, the three-judge panel didn’t buy claims made by plaintiffs in Block v. eBay, 12-16527, that eBay violated its user agreement by favoring buyers over sellers.
