The Third District Court of Appeal on Wednesday affirmed the dismissal of criminal charges against a Wackenhut employee in a racketeering case because the statute of limitations ran out.

Erika Reyan was one of eight former Wackenhut employees charged with violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act for alleged overbilling on a Miami-Dade County contract to provide security services for the public transportation system.
